Cooling Product Tips for Australian Conditions

Australian ambient temperatures push cooling equipment harder than most northern-hemisphere test data assumes. Treat published cold-retention figures as a best case and build in a margin.
Pre-chill gel packs fully solid before use, and never mix a partly thawed pack with a frozen one — the warmer pack will pull heat into the compartment.
Insulated wallets perform best when full. Empty space is thermal dead weight, so fill gaps with a spare pack or a foam insert.
For journeys longer than a day, a hard-shell cooling case with four packs outperforms two soft wallets almost every time.
